Deeti Ray is a New Delhi-based cultural heritage and conservation scholar-practitioner with more than twenty years of professional experience in cultural institutions, including the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), and the Sanskriti Foundation. She holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Ancient Indian History (1996) and a Diploma in Heritage Management (2000). She is the recipient of the Senior Fellowship (2019-2021) and the Tagore Scholarship ( IGNCA, 2024-2026) from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in ‘Maritime Heritage of Odisha: Cultural and Literary Perspective’ from Noida International University.
She has published articles in web portals and international journals and has co-edited books. Notable recent articles include “Connecting Culture: The Tradition of Boita Bandana”; India and Southeast Asia in a Changing World (Routledge India, 2024); and Maa Tarini Peetha of Kendujhar: Sacred Confluence of Tribal and Mainstream Religious Traditions of Odisha, Gonasika Paper Series, Number 1, June 01, 2025. She is co-author (with Prof. Dr. Aparna Sharma) of "Feminine perspective in Odia folklore: The story of Tapoi," Humanities and Social Sciences: A Multidisciplinary Approach (Routledge India, 2026). She has co-edited and coordinated book publications on Abdur Rahim Khan-i-Khanan and Amir Khusrau (AKTC, New Delhi).
